Opening Weekend At Keeneland
Four days and nearly forty stakes on the racing calendar. Kim returned from her week-long journey to visit family and spend her birthday with her twin sister Karrie. We stayed through Sunday night at our Orlando condo while I enjoyed the racing weekend. Got to watch our grandson play in his 12U game, then he spent the night and we topped the weekend off by watching our son Brad score a hat trick in his game before his birthday celebration. We opted to drive home to Fort Lauderdale last night, arriving a little before 11pm so we could have the full week (five days) to regroup and pack for our first big adventure since March - we leave Friday to join our wonderful friends Pam & Bob in Romania as we explore the eastern part of the Danube, one of the few areas in Europe we have NOT visited. I played a total of thirty-five races over the four days and scored in 14 of them for a 40% win rate. And WOULD have had a generous profit for the four days had two oh-so-close-photo finishes gone my way. But that's racing.
